Subject: Letter to Councillors
Dear Ladies & Gentlemen
Please find attached our initial response to the proposed “Dalkeith Redevelopment”
Our position is set out in the attached. We have attempted to leave this response brief (as attached) and we do not represent that these very brief notes can elaborate on all fundamental matters. In fact we reserve the right and expect this will granted to put further considered matters on the table.
Also we are extremely concerned about the manner notice & timing of the alleged “Informal consultation”. Further we have been told that there has been selective input from a few (& mainly only those with land in the proposed area) This is an extremely skewed group & appears that this is grossly unjust with lack of due care to all ratepayers/residents.
Accordingly we also request that the current plan be suspended while appropriate consideration is sought from the entire body of ratepayers & residents. Considering the extent (size & scale) and permanency of the proposal, taking more time to fully consider all issues raised by such a plan would be the correct manner to ensure all ratepayers are appropriately consulted.
Finally on a personal note, our move to Dalkeith (over 20 years ago) was because it offered a diversity of options compared to Cottesloe (where were then living) and City Beach that was then releasing new blocks. We found and settled on Dalkeith for the purpose of the family orientated diversity that it offers compared to the Beach suburbs. Dalkeith presents diversity now as it stands. This should be protected
We are receptive to enhancing this diversification provided it is appropriate & compliments the nature & environment that has taken over 50 years to evolve and this must be preserved with all ratepayers being granted a suitable opportunity to contribute.
Ladies & Gentlemen we are happy to elaborate on our comments and join with our whole community in considering the proposal. If you desire further elaboration on any matter please contact:
