I occupy with my wife Linda Murphy the house at 117 Circe Circle, Dalkeith. I strongly object to the proposed development for the following reasons:
They will destroy the amenity of the existing area
The prospect of 3-5 storey development will diminish the quality and ambience of the area
The prospect of having hotels, motels or taverns will introduce an excessive amount of people and traffic and will ruin the quiet village-like environment that now exists
The likely destruction of trees and greenery will detract from the visual appeal of the area and be environmentally unwelcome and it will affect bird and other wildlife in the area
It is entirely unnecessary given the significant shopping and commercial redevelopment in Claremont
It creates unacceptable uncertainty with regard to the extent and development within the newly zoned areas
The creation of small flats with high density living is unnecessary in the area and out of pattern with the general residential development within the area
It will create additional traffic strains on existing roads
It is unfair to people in the area who bought in Dalkeith to avoid such commercial development.
Yours sincerely,
Graeme Murphy
