Subject: Dalkeith re-development plans

Dear Council Members

Re Dalkeith - Waratah/Circe Circle Redevelopment

Further to the meeting of a large number of Dalkeith residents in the Village Hall last evening, attended by some of our elected Council representatives, I now request that Council as a whole re-consider the planning currently proposed.

It was clear from the meeting - both in terms of numbers of attendees, and their comments - that the proposals do not meet the needs of the community, and no amount of tweaking will be successful. I support Sue Walker's proposal that the current proposals be dropped and that you do not spend any more time, effort and money on the current proposals. The effort now need to be directed to the needs of the community, and there are plenty of ideas that can further enhance our residential area. The effort needs to be directed to listening to these ideas, and developing plans based on the needs and aspirations of the community who will then benefit from their result.

We have elected you as our representatives. You are duty bound to represent us. Kindly carry out your duties in the interest of the your community.
