Subject: Draft Dalkeith Redevelopment Proposal

Dear Meloni/Lovi family
Thank you for your correspondence with regard to the Draft Guidelines for the proposed Dalkeith redevelopment.

Please let me reassure you that this is a very earlyinformal consultation phase, which is part of a staged process designed to elicit comment from the community.  Following the collation of public comments, this redevelopment concept will be revised.  This revision will be based on community comment and in line with proper planning processes.  The revised proposal is scheduled to be presented back to the community in March.  This will be followed by workshops with Council.  This is before any scheme amendment is initiated and before any formal, prescribed consultation is required or traditionally sought

Please let me reiterate, the City has gone to great lengths to ensure that the community has been informed of the proposal at this extremely early stage.  This is well before any formal consultation with the community usually takes place in local government contexts.  The point of this early consultation is so that the proposal for redevelopment can be revised following community input.

Unfortunately, under the previous Mayor this consultation was scheduled to occur after the election.  This renewed Council has not had a chance to debate the draft proposal with the changed makeup of the Council.

I request that if possible, you make detailed and constructive comment on the proposal and email your feedback to dalkeith@nedlands.wa.gov.au so that your input can be productively processed.
Regards

Nikola Horley.
